Whether you are just starting your Paleo journey or you have been eating Paleo for a while, you probably experience hunger pangs and cravings for certain foods. Here are some natural ways to curb your appetite the Paleo way:

Eat breakfast daily.

Breakfast is a healthy meal that will help you to keep a standard body weight and will also help you to avoid taking snack foods that may increase your fat and sugar content in your body. When you fail to eat breakfast, you are likely to experience high blood pressure, increase in body weight, insulin resistance, as well as increased lipid level in your body. These complications may cause you to eat more than required and, in the long run, develop obesity defections.

Eat healthy snacks when you’re hungry.

Feeling hunger before meal time can be controlled by eating healthy snacks you to reduce food cravings. Fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins such as fish and nuts are healthy because they have plenty of nutrients rich in vitamins, minerals and added nutrients crucial for your body. Drinking water instead of sugary juice can make you feel fuller without taking in calories. Consumption of healthy fats will help you to control sugar level in your blood unlike sticking to addictive foods rich in sugar and carbohydrates.

Use smaller plates to get used to smaller quantities of food.

Using smaller plate size is an important factor when serving food. Big plates will always accommodate more food, and it can become a habit for you to eat a large quantity of food before you are satisfied. Psychological mind set is important as far as getting satisfied is concerned. When you remain contented with the portion on your plate, it is likely that you will be satisfied with the small amount of food that you eat.

Exercise frequently.  

Daily exercise may help you to balance your moods, reduce stress and even make you more aware of what you are eating. It has also been found out that body exercise will reduce neuron response towards food which could be triggered by the brain. Physical exercise can help you to reduce desire for food as the brain is moderated in the way you crave certain foods.

Eat from the dining table and observe table manners.

You can check your eating habits by eating in a company of friends or family members so that you can be able to eat proportionately and avoid being embarrassed by overeating. Eating meals in the dining room instead of in front of the TV is also a good strategy as you will be able to concentrate as you eat and remain in control of the quantity you take. Observing table manners will also enable you to swallow reasonable amount of food at a time and this will enable carbohydrate digestion in the mouth efficiently.

Eat more regularly.

Eating one or two times a day may motivate you to overeat in order to compensate for the long working hours that have passed while you were hungry. This can develop into a bad eating habit of overeating. You can curb on your health here by utilizing all meal times to eat small quantity of food at each meal time which is healthier than eating too much food once that will not be utilized by the body fully.

Drink more water.

Drinking plenty of water will prevent dehydration in the body. Dehydration may make crave food and think that you are hungry even when you are not. You need to drink water regularly to avoid overeating habits that may develop out of dehydration.
