Embarking on a Paleo journey requires taking an inventory of what you need to make your diet a success. This includes taking note of all of the kitchen essentials that you will need. While you don’t need to spend a great deal of money, there are products that stand by the saying “You get what you pay for.” While cheaper kitchen essentials are more affordable for those on a budget, it doesn’t hurt to splurge on a great appliance or bakeware set once in a great while.

So for all of you Paleo dieters out there, here’s a list of essential kitchen items that you will need to have a successful Paleo journey:

Nonstick baking sheets

While these are generally used for baking cookies, there won’t be any of that on the Paleo diet! (At least not cookies that aren’t Paleo-friendly, anyway!) Nonstick baking pans are great for roasting all of your favorite veggies in the oven. They come in all different sizes,  but the biggest ones are best for roasting a lot of veggies at once. You can buy them separately or you can purchase them in a set. Make sure they are nonstick though, or you will find that whatever you are baking will stick to pan’s surface.

While a mixer isn’t essential, it’s handy to have around when you’re making a delicious Paleo dessert. Plus, it’s always good to have a high quality mixer if you do a lot of baking for other people. There are hand mixers that work with some effort, but of course the kitchen stand mixers are the best. However, the stand mixers are quite expensive. But they will last for years and years, and they are essential if you are an avid baker, Paleo or not.

Nonstick frying pans

These are great to have around in different sizes for frying eggs, searing fish, and cooking meats like bacon and sausage. You can purchase them pretty inexpensively, and the cheaper ones work just as well as the more expensive ones. Make sure they are nonstick, because the last thing you want is your omelet sticking to the pan when you try to flip it over. It’s a good idea to have two or three pans of different sizes.

Olive oil drizzler

This is more of an accessory and it’s certainly not essential, but it’s nice to have a cool olive oil drizzler if you use olive oil a lot. They come in different sizes and colors, and are great to have around when you need some olive oil in a quick pinch while cooking.

Vegetable peeler

Paleo eaters should consume a lot of veggies, so having a vegetable peeler around is a must. You can buy these at your local dollar store and they work just fine!

Tupperware containers

If you want to make a lot of veggies and meats ahead of time, Tupperware containers are a must-have. Be sure to get a set of different sizes so that you can store Paleo food items for the entire week. Plus you can take them to lunch with you and they’re easy to clean!
