A Paleo lifestyle entails a diet that contains foods which are free from gluten, grains, legumes, sugar and dairy. A Paleo lifestyle also involves natural exercise such as sprinting and lifting heavy objects. The Paleo diet is based on the foods which human beings fed on as they underwent the process of evolution. This means that all the foods which are processed are not included in the diet.

A Paleo lifestyle has been known to improve health in the following ways:

Weight loss

In our opinion, a Paleo lifestyle offers the best solution in losing extra weight that you may carry. Carbohydrates contribute greatly in weight gain, but in the Paleo diet, the level of carbohydrates consumed are minimal. The level of fruits and vegetables consumed should be increased in a bid to enhance weight loss rather than weight gain. This will automatically lower the levels of blood sugar in the body and insulin which will facilitate the breakdown of fats instead of aiding in their conversion for storage in the body. This will lead to weight loss and increased vitality.

Diabetes type 2 management 

Diabetes is a disorder in which the level of blood sugar increases and the insulin is unable to lower it as expected. The Paleo diet, which is low in carbohydrates, will work magic in lowering blood sugar levels. This will ultimately decrease the level of insulin in the blood as glucose tolerance develops. This can happen in a period of about twelve weeks after switching to Paleo lifestyle. There will be a reversal in the signs and symptoms of type 2 diabetes. This will consequently improve the quality of life as one will not be struggling with insulin injection and other diabetes management procedures. 

Healthy bones

Most of the foods that the Paleo diet offers do not contain a lot of acids—an enemy when it comes to the health of bones. When acid digests most of the calcium in the bones, it leaves an individual at risk for disorders such as arthritis. Foods such as fruits and vegetables have best properties when it comes to balancing of acid and alkaline ratios. The diet completely replaces acid-producing foods common in most diets and this boosts your health. The Paleo diet also helps to maintain the required calcium balance in the bones and the body, improving overall health for years to come.

Autoimmune disorders

When you follow a Paleo lifestyle, you will be able to alleviate a number of autoimmune disorders such as sclerosis and arthritis among other disorders. This is because the Paleo lifestyle discourages foods which are likely to irritate the gut lining leading to their entrance into the blood stream. If this entry of undigested food continues for a long time, it will trigger the immune system, which will finally react by attacking your body. This will lead into development of autoimmune disorders in the long run.

As you can see, there are many ways to improve your health with a Paleo diet and lifestyle. You’ll notice the differences within a few weeks or months.
